'THE BEAST' IS A HIT WITH SELL-OUT PERFORMANCES!

The King's School Production of 'The Beast' was a big hit with all audiences during the last week of Term 2 as the boys performed this very colourful adaptation of 'Beauty and the Beast' with amazing skill and energy. The first roar of the Beast had everyone out of their seats (and a few younger members covering their ears and eyes). The special effects were outstanding, but it was the acting of the ensemble itself that was particularly impressive as the boys worked together to bring us a very slick and professional dramatic experience.

The audience was left hungry for more!

FRIENDS' FAMILY FUN DAY

On Sunday 25th April under beautiful autumn sunshine, the Friends held their annual Family Fun Day on the Top Lawn. Families brought picnics and enjoyed the warm weather with friends whilst being entertained by the talented staff band - 'The Faculty'. Boys and their siblings took advantage of the many rides on offer on the astroturf, and filled up on sausages, cool drinks and ice cream. It was a wonderful afternoon for the whole school family and a highlight of the year for the boys.

LEST WE FORGET

The school's traditional Anzac Day Service was held on Friday 23rd April for the whole school in the Memorial Hall. Father John led the moving service with many boys lighting candles in memory of those lost in active service, and the reading out of the names of 56 King's Old Boys. A highlight of the service was Harry Legget's trumpet solo of "The Last Post".

ATHLETICS DAYS IN WARM AUTUMN SUNSHINE

Senior and Middle School Athletics Day took place at Mt Smart Stadium on Friday March 26th in glorious autumn sunshine. There was a huge turnout as usual to watch the boys perform in a wide variety of events, contesting for their personal best and of course, the coveted House Points. Several school records were broken on the day.

The Prep and Junior School also turned out to compete in their athletic events on Monday 29th March in similar sunny conditions. The sack races still proved to be the most popular event!
