RELAY FOR LIFE

On Saturday 20th Febraury, a team of enthusiastic King's boys took part in the "Relay for Life" at Mt Smart Stadium raising money and awareness for the Cancer Society. Boys took turns at keeping the relay going right through the night and into Sunday morning, at the same time taking part in many other activities for this worthy cause.

THE GREAT RIDE FOR HEART!

The Great Ride for Heart is now well and truly underway and riding through a town near you!

One of the cyclists is King’s parent, Malcolm Legget, who together with other leading cardiologists and health professionals, have started an epic journey from Cape Reinga to Bluff. The riders have paid all their own expenses and every cent raised will go directly towards setting up a research hub for preventive heart health at the University of Auckland, to be endowed in perpetuity for the benefit of all New Zealanders.

You can follow where the riders are day by day on GPS and check out the daily Ricoh Shot of the Day video blogs on www.heartracer.org.nz Donations may be made through the website online.

THE NEW YEAR GETS OFF TO A FLYING START!

All new boys and staff were welcomed this morning in a powhiri at full school assembly and the school start to hum again with anticipation for the year ahead. The Kapa Haka performed for the whole school and Headmaster addressed the boys with a message of encouragement to always strive for your best at all times.

Seen here are some new Year 1 boys, and some Middle School boys in their new summer hats.
